LINGERIE FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Football fans are talking about the two undefeated NFL teams, the last few regular season games, and, of course, the Super Bowl. But let’s not forget about the other football league: the Lingerie Football League — and its upcoming Lingerie Bowl in February.
• The league is split into two conferences — the Eastern Conference (Chicago Bliss, Miami Caliente, New York Majesty, Philadelphia Passion and Tampa Breeze) and the Western Conference (Dallas Desire, Denver Dream, Los Angeles Temptation, San Diego Seduction and the Seattle Mist).
• Each LFL player wears a sports bra, bikini briefs, a helmet and pads, with a lace choker and garter belt serving as accessories. Each team’s uniform is modeled after the respective city’s NFL team uniforms.
• Players need to be athletic to survive the 7-on-7 full-contact games. Past players include Angie Everhart and Jenny McCarthy.
• Former NFL players were recruited for coaching positions.
• The season lasts 20 weeks, September to January, with a week off in December. There is one game each week and each team plays four games per season.
• Each LFL team has its own cheerleader/dance squad and official home arena.
• Weekly games of “LFL Friday Night Football” are shot in high-definition and broadcast on MyNetworkTV, international stations and online streaming.
• Teams play opponents in their conference; two games are at home and two games are on the road. The top two teams in each conference will meet in playoff games on February 5, in Miami, and the winners will go on to play in Lingerie Bowl VII on February 7.
